[WG] KPop Celebrities Cover Nobody

Wonder Girls Nobody is known as the biggest hit of 2008/09, the best year in Kpop history according to many fans [including myself]. Wonder Girls have performed this song countless times in the past and present and will continue to do so. The song was not only popular among all kpop fans, but also among other celebrities so here are some covers.
Miss A [Fei, Min, Jia]
Starting off the list with quite possibly the strongest contender. This is definitely my favorite cover. Considering that they performed the ballad/Rainstone version, I think they did exceptionally well. Fei and Jia have performed Nobody before with current Wonder Girls member Lim during their JYP Sisters days.
Miss A [Fei, Jia, Min]
Yes, that’s right, they performed it not once, but twice. I was disappointed that Suzy missed out both times though. This time though they did the dance version and Fei showed off her beautiful voice again. It seems Wonder Girls and Miss A are fans of each other.
2PM
Here we have another JYP Nation family member performing the song. 2PM’s Junsu and Jaebeom do a great job taking on Sunye and Yeeun’s part respectively. The other members also show their playfulness throughout.
Wonder Boys [Seungri, Jo Kwon, Taemin, Shindong, Sungmin]
I always knew Seungri was able to adapt to performing Wonder Girls’ songs really well, but Jo Kwon had the perfect attitude on stage. The whole audience seemed to enjoy the performance, particularly Wonder Girls and 2PM. I never get tired of watching this.
Jo Kwon, Min, Sungjong
On Happy Together, Sungjong said he wanted to claim Jo Kwon’s spot [since he was given the title of Second Generation Jo Kwon]. Of course, when Jo Kwon and his female counterpart Min are involved, you can always expect some Kkap. So while Sungjong showed a sexy style, Min and Jo Kwon promoted their Kkap style.
Jo Kwon
This is a video of Jo Kwon filling in for Sohee during one of their rehearsals. He’s pretty lost most of the time but towards the end, his Kkap comes out and he just wings it. You can hear the audience laughing and girls are laughing too while pushing him to his spot.
T.O.P [with Sunmi]
This is a clip from a Wonderbang special stage for Gayo Daejun. Sunmi opens with the chorus while T.O.P raps. The lyrics were changed and the rap itself was lengthened. I love this version. T.O.P has finally met a match for his intense gaze.
Kara
This is one of the weakest covers on this list. I always knew Kara fell short in the vocals department, but even Gyuri’s angelic voice couldn’t match up to Yeeun or Sunye’s powerful vocals. On a different note, when Wonder Girls perform this song, they exude elegance but Kara gave more of a cute [song-wise] and sexy [dancing-wise] vibe.

Daesung

I couldn't find the video of this but yay for whoever made these gifs. :)

Various Artists
This is for all the covers I missed or couldn’t find good videos of. It really shows just how popular the song was.

[♪R] 10 Songs Worth Listening to in 2012

[Bear with me, I wrote this back in July]

What are my top 10 songs for this year so far? They range from songs that were just released in June to songs released back in February. And not all are a part of kpop mainstream music. Some are from solo artists and even drama osts are included. Here’s a couple of songs you should check out.

Seo In Guk - Tease Me

Although I still don’t understand the music video, the song really stuck to me. The acoustic guitar and his sweet vocals meshed together beautifully. Seo In Guk, “I think I’m falling in love with you.” This song was a fresh start to the spring season.

Ye Eun [Wonder Girls] - Hello To Myself [Dream High 2 OST]

Yeeun has started to show her composing and writing abilities lately. And she tends to incorporate her own life experiences into her music, with this song being no exception. I think “Hello To Myself” was really fitting to Kang Sora’s character in Dream High. This song is about believing in yourself and motivating yourself. The soft melody was a great addition to the drama and one of my favorite works by Yeeun.

Daesung [Big Bang] - Wings

This was my personal favorite out of the Alive album. Sometimes, I feel like Daesung’s vocals are overlooked. So when you hear it like this in all its glory, it’s hard to deny his talent. And watching the performance was all the more exhilarating.

Lee Seung Chul - Did You Forget [Feast of the Gods OST]

Another OST. I had a really hard time choosing between this song and all of the OSTs from Feast of the Gods. This song is really addictive and you can’t help but sing along to the chorus. Not to mention Lee Seungchul has the perfect voice for OSTs. If you have time, also check out Kim Tae Woo’s So I Run and Sunye’s Sound Of Love.

Miryo - Party Rock [Feat.Gary of LeeSsang & THE KOXX]

And now it’s time for some party rocking. After a long chain of slow songs, this really uplifts the mood. If Miryo’s raspy voice isn’t enough by itself, then Gary’s rapping really hits the spot. This is the perfect song for a summer party.

Song Jieun [Secret] - It’s Cold [Take Care of Us, Captain OST]

Back to the slow songs now. Take Care of Us, Captain had its own fair share of great OSTs but of course this one stood out the most to me. It really brings back memories of Song Ji Eun’s Going Crazy. Her sweet voice is enough to send chills down your back.

John Park - Falling

I can’t get enough of this song. I remember when I first saw John Park on American Idol. I love how he gives the song an American touch. You really fall into a different world when listening to this song [and watching the mv].

Miss A - Over U

I am so glad they had the chance to promote this song because I personally liked it better than Touch. It showed a touch and confident side instead of a typical “damsel in distress” who can’t forget her ex. This upbeat track is a fun dance number as well.

Big Bang - Blue

I wouldn’t exactly call this anything close to a ballad but it’s definitely not a dance track. This is the total opposite of Miss A’s Over You in that it talks about longing for the person you [actually Big Bang] has loved to death [not literally]. However, it was definitely a refreshing sound from Big Bang’s past hits.

Wonder Girls - Sorry

From their latest album, Wonder Party, Wonder Girls have yet again proven their capabilities as singers. What’s especially commendable is rapper Yoobin’s vocal work in here. Their emotions show through well.

Bonus Song:
2NE1 - I Love You
No comments for this song except that it’s a hit for sure. And I love how 2NE1 manages to capture everyone’s heart with something completely different each time.
What are your favorite songs so far this year?

[RR] Asian Celebrity Look-Alikes Round 1

Everyone thinks all Asians look alike but, we if you’re used to seeing Asians then you can even tell the difference between where they come from. However, there are some that look strikingly similar that even us fans could be mistaken. Here’s part 1 of my list of celebrity look-alikes. Some of the idols/actors might cross-over from Korean, to Japanese and even Taiwanese.

I think the most well-known “twins” in the industry are Rain and 2PM’s Junho. I have to admit though, when 2PM first debuted with 10 out of 10, I seriously thought that half the group looked like Rain, specifically Junho, Chansung and even Jaebum.

Next up is SNSD’s Yoona and F(x)’s Krystal. Despite the fact that Krystal’s sister is actually Jessica, I find more resemblance between her and Yoona. I was actually surprised that Krystal turned out to be Jessica’s sister.

People who do resemble Jessica [not just Jessica but each other] though, include Dal Shabet’s Serri, Hello Venus’ Yoonjo, T-Ara’s Hyomin, and Wonder Girls’ Sunye.

Also, I’ve noticed that FT Island’s Hongki and MBLAQ’s Mir also look alike sometimes.

Another set of twins from SM include senior KangTa and [super] junior Siwon.

Big Bang’s Daesung and K.Will also share a striking resemblance with their bright smile and disappearing eyes.

This next set is very special. The main person here is FT Island’s Jaejin. And for those who are not very familiar with YG, then you might not know who I’m comparing him to so I’ll give a short intro. The Kwon twins from YG are best known as 2ne1’s back-up dancers. But they have also appeared in GDTOP’s Don’t Go Home, Seungri’s VVIP, and even episode 3 of Secret Garden [Yoo In Na from YG was in there. I think they were also in What's Up which has Daesung.]. Ever since I saw them in 2NE1’s Go Away performance [I didn't know they were twins at that time, which explains why they were able to dance with Dara and CL], I really thought they looked exactly like Jaejin.
